trinity and the pope

okey dokey here goes this is my list of must see and do and eat in the Bayou I am going to get right to the point... Thanksgiving is upon us and we are hosting our 5th annual holiday community dinner to bring comfort and hope to all those feeling melancholy.....so we are gettin busy in the kitchen fried alligator at Cochon spicy grilled pork ribs with watermelon pickle with Cochon Rootbeer float with Catdaddy Moonshine at Cochon Bar B Q shrimp over grits with a uniquely wonderful etouffe type sauce - Dick and Jenny's Buffet lunch at Matt and Naddie's Charcuterie plate at Dantes Pickled Peanuts at Dante's Meat Loaf at Ignatius Fried Chicken and potato salad at Willie Mays Scotch House Praline Bacon at Elizabeth's Begnets at Cafe Dumonde of course.... Coffee at Croissant d'or Muffuletta and off beat food items at Central Grocery THE CRESENT CITY FARMER"S MARKET - support the community wherever you are or go.... well what a tough month it has been travelling here and there just to tempt the tummy no sooner than we returned from our stormy Mexican fiesta than I jumped right back in the saddle and headed to the French Quarter for mucho comida, jazzy blues, history and community support. The Brad Pitt 9th Ward project is so special - a floating house and all. One of these celebrity chef's should take their talents to the hard hit areas so that you all wonderful tourists will venture out of your comfort zone to really support the need. Are you listening Mr. Pitt, Ms. Spicer, and Mr. Besh. I have to organize my thoughts on the dinning extravaganza I dragged my comrades on and get back to you stay tuned.... frog's and fishes

Hurricane Rick

Back from the storm with rejuvination and salt... We drove up the coast to Todos Santos for some homemade Damiana liquor and Sea of Cortes sea salt to carry home. If you get the chance to venture to the cape - make sure you indulge in some Damiana for your margharita. Damiana is an herbal tea as well which settles the tummy and those womanly monthly pains as well as boosts the fertility hormones.... The best reason for the trip up the coast to Todos Santos is the return sunset stop at Art and Beer. I had a pure and au natural pina colada right up there with my Galapagos cocktail. Since hurricane rick was hanging over us, we spent many hours watching the powerful surf and sipping on some wonderful Mexican rose. Who would have thought we could enjoy local wines on the Mexican coast. We of course indulged in the local tacos at Gardenia's by the McDonalds in Cabo as well as our new find in San Jose - Taqueria Mexico If you travel to San Jose in the winter months, check out the new loca
